The agenda was designed to accommodate a smaller group of NAO members, primarily Center and Program Directors, to facilitate discussions.  Here are some of the agenda items:

  • The Program Directors Constituency Group and Center Directors Constituency Groups.  Groups asked for more time to meet during national meetings; therefore, half a day will be allocated for the constituency groups to meet and address topics of interest primarily to their groups.
  • The AHEC Scholars.   The program is underway across the country and there are several areas that information sharing among Centers can assist others with their project:
    • “Ted Talk” style presentations are scheduled to cover some of the key areas in support of the AHEC Scholars – recruitment, marketing, didactics, incentives and others
    • Round table sessions on the key areas are scheduled for most of the afternoon
  • Sustainability & Advocacy for the Future.  Discussion sessions will include topics on supplemental funding, innovative funding opportunities, legislative updates and strategies to engage in educating local, state and federal policy makers on the issues important to the AHEC network and the populations served.
  • State of NAO.  Dwain Harris, CEO and NAO officers will provide a report on the “State of NAO”.  This is an opportunity for discussion as we approach a new strategic plan with a new CEO.   Your input will contribute to the success and growth of the NAO.
